Common Settings
-
Error Correction:
- Error correction is a key feature of QR codes, ensuring they remain readable even when partially damaged or obscured. We support all levels of error correction:
- Low: Recovers 7% of data.
- Medium: Recovers 15% of data.
- Quartile: Recovers 25% of data.
- High: Recovers 30% of data.
- Higher levels offer greater resilience but increase the QR code’s complexity.
- Error correction is a key feature of QR codes, ensuring they remain readable even when partially damaged or obscured. We support all levels of error correction:
-
Module Size:
- Modules are the individual squares that compose a QR code. Adjusting the Module Size changes these squares' dimensions, affecting the overall size and readability of the QR code.
- Choosing the right module size ensures the QR code fits your design needs while maintaining scannability.
-
Quiet Zone:
- The Quiet Zone is the empty space around the QR code, crucial for accurate scanning without interference from surrounding elements.
- Our default quiet zone size is 4 modules, which aligns with ISO standards for optimal QR code performance.
-
Safe Center:
- The Safe Center is a calculated area in the middle of the QR code where modules can be optionally omitted for visual customization.
- Many of our styles allow placing an image in the Safe Center, adding a personalized touch without compromising functionality.
Note: Using the Safe Center means this area will not fully benefit from the error correction, so designs should be tested thoroughly to ensure scannability.
Customization and Personalization
Take advantage of the customization options in the QR Code Designer to create QR codes that truly represent your brand. Adjust settings such as colors, patterns, and embedded images to design QR codes that stand out and leave a lasting impression.
Important: Testing Your QR Codes
While Go2.ws takes steps to ensure reliable QR code generation, the advanced levels of customization available mean it is possible to create QR codes that may not be as reliable as others. Therefore, we strongly recommend testing your QR codes thoroughly before deployment.
Testing Guidelines
- Test Across Multiple Devices: QR code readers may perform differently depending on the device and operating system. Ensure your QR code is scannable on various smartphones and tablets.
- Consider Different QR Code Readers: Use different QR code scanning apps to verify compatibility, as some may interpret QR codes differently.
- Check Screen and Print: Test your QR codes both on screens and printed materials. Screens and print can produce different results, and the environment (lighting, reflections) may affect readability.
- Packaging Considerations: When using QR codes on packaging, test the design in real-world conditions. Verify that the code is scannable in various lighting situations and angles.
Disclaimer
Go2.ws provides advanced tools to create and customize QR codes, but we do not hold responsibility for QR codes that are not scannable due to user modifications. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that the QR codes function correctly in all intended use cases.
For packaging or large print runs, we recommend extensive testing across multiple devices, readers, and environments to ensure that the QR code is reliable and effective.
