Go2.ws gives you a fast short URL tool and a QR designer built around Go2.ws links.

Short URL Tool

The home page is intentionally simple:

1. Enter the URL you want to shorten.
2. Choose Make Short URL.
3. The short URL replaces your original URL in the same box.
4. Use the copy icon to copy it, or the visit icon to open it.
5. Choose Make Another to reset the box.

You can also choose Make QR Code from the same URL box to open the QR designer.

QR Code Designer

The QR designer creates QR codes for Go2.ws short links. This keeps the QR code tied to a manageable short URL instead of hard-coding a long destination directly into the code.

Main Controls

• Type: Choose the QR rendering style.
• Error Correction: Choose how much data recovery the QR code should include.
• Module Size: Control the rendered size of each QR module.
• Quiet Zone: Control the empty margin around the QR code.
• Generate: Render the QR code from the current settings.
• Download: Save the generated QR code as a PNG.

The preview uses a checker background when the QR code has transparency, making it easier to see which areas are transparent before downloading.

QR Code Type

For now, this manual documents the Basic QR type: shape, color, finder, alignment, safe-center, and center-image controls.

Common Settings

Error Correction controls how much damage or obstruction the QR code can tolerate:

• low: Recovers about 7% of data.
• medium: Recovers about 15% of data.
• quartile: Recovers about 25% of data.
• high: Recovers about 30% of data.

Higher correction levels increase resilience, but can make the QR code denser.

Module Size controls the pixel size of the individual QR modules.

Quiet Zone controls the empty space around the QR code. A quiet zone is important for scanner reliability, especially in print.

Background Fill controls whether the QR code is generated with a background color or transparent background.

Color Controls

The designer uses custom color pickers for QR-safe light and dark colors. These behave like normal color pickers, but the safe color areas are restricted so generated QR codes stay readable.

Safe Center

Some QR styles support a safe center area. This can leave room for a center image, but it also reduces the amount of QR data rendered in that area.

Always test QR codes before using them in print, packaging, signage, or paid campaigns.

Testing Your QR Codes

Advanced QR styling can affect scanner reliability. Before using a QR code publicly:

• Test it on multiple phones.
• Test it with multiple QR reader apps.
• Test it on screen and in print.
• Test it at the final physical size.
• Test it under realistic lighting and viewing angles.

For packaging or large print runs, test from production artwork before committing to print.
